Gina earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science from Stephen F. Austin State University.  She has completed extensive training through Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, other International Association of Yoga Therapists certified providers, The National Institute for the Clinical Application of Behavioral Medicine, Johns Hopkins Howard County General Hospital, and Maryland University of Integrative Health.

Gina is certified through The International Association of Yoga Therapists (C-IAYT*), a world-wide professional organization bridging yoga, yoga therapy, and healthcare.  She, also, is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-500) with Yoga Alliance and is a certified Prime of Life Yoga (POLY 500) instructor through Samata International.

Gina's certifications and continuing education support her work with clients suffering from trauma, including, PTSD, anxiety, grief, depression, eating disorders, chronic pain, gastrointestinal disorders, cancer, and others.  

Through a short-term internship at Johns Hopkins Howard County General Hospital in Columbia, Maryland, in partnership with Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH), Gina worked with acute care patients navigating illness and disease ranging from Multiple Sclerosis, pancreatitis, cancer, hypoxia, alcohol withdrawal syndrome, and others. 

 

Gina has studied with world-renowned teachers Bo Forbes (Yoga for Emotional Balance), Michael Lee (Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy & Therapeutic Yoga - A Bridge from Body to Soul), Amy Weintraub (Yoga for Depression), Seane Corn (The Body and Beyond workshop), and Max Strom (Breathe to Heal).

*C-IAYT - Gina's yoga therapy credentials are based on her certifications through PRYT and IAYT, and not from her status as an RYT with Yoga Alliance Registry.
